Year Group Workshops for parents

Requested by parents, these annual workshops now run every year in the Autumn Term. There are workshops for parents of all year groups focusing on topics such as Phonics, Maths, Reading and Writing and SATS.
They will give you an insight into how your child will learn at Park Hill Infants and how you can support your child at home.

Harvest Festival

A celebration of Harvest. During this week there is a collection of food goods for people in need in the community.

Children have fun participating in activities related to Diwali.

Christmas Celebrations

Christmas is celebrated in many ways at school. We have nativity performances performed by Reception children and Christmas concerts performed by children in Key Stage One.  All children have a fun party day and there is a Christmas fair run by the PHSA.

Eid

Eid is recognised through a whole school assembly and children have fun participating in activities related to Eid in class. Terrific Tuesday (Reception), Wonderful Wednesday (Year One) and Thrilling Thursday (Year Two) will also focus on Eid for the week that Eid falls.

Lunar New Year

Children have fun participating in activities related to Lunar New Year.

Summer-Time Dance

Children learn country dances and maypole dances throughout the half term to perform to parents at the Summer-Time Dance event.

Science Week

Children spend the week participating in lots of fun science related activities and there are always great people coming in to add to the children's experiences.

Book Week

Children spend the week participating in activities related to books! There are performances from drama companies in this week, junior school children often visit to help and the book fair is here for everyone to visit.

Humanities Week

Children spend the week participating in activities related to geography and history! There are performances from drama companies in this week and visitors to the school to further enrich our Humanities curriculum.

Arts Week

Children spend the week participating in lots of fun music and arts activities. There is always lots of visitors and a visit to the junior school to watch a performance by the children. The week ends with a talent show for pupils and parents!

 

Mental Health Week

Promoting positive mental health is of the utmost importance to us as a school and is a focus all year round. During this dedicated week we hold parents workshops and children participate in a range of activities such as yoga, mindfulness creativity, expressive dance, meditation etc.
